This project involved the installation of a new wood-burning stove, but before the appliance could be fitted, the existing open fireplace and chimney required essential structural repairs.
We carefully stripped back the existing fireplace, installed a new structural lintel, and rebuilt the outer brickwork to create the correct opening for the new stove. A new hearth was then installed, and the chimney breast was finished with a heat-resistant plaster skim, providing a clean, durable finish ready for decoration.
Externally, the chimney stack required new haunching to improve its structural integrity and prevent water ingress, ensuring the chimney remained weatherproof and secure for years to come.
To complete the installation, we fitted a new chimney liner and chimney cowl before carrying out the final installation of the wood-burning stove, delivering a safe, efficient, and fully compliant heating solution.

Fire and chimney restoration works

This project was slightly different from our typical renovation work, as we were initially instructed to investigate the source of persistent damp and mould affecting the rear of the property.

Following a thorough inspection, we identified significant cracking throughout the gable end, allowing water to penetrate through poorly installed flashings on the existing outbuilding. This had resulted in prolonged moisture ingress and extensive damp issues within the property.

After discussing the findings with the client, it was agreed that the most effective long-term solution would be to completely remove the outbuilding. We then carried out all necessary repairs to the gable end before re-rendering it, leaving it ready for painting.

As part of the remedial works, we also removed the existing cavity wall insulation, which had become saturated and was trapping moisture within the walls, further contributing to the damp problem. Once removed, we constructed new internal timber framing, installed insulation and plasterboard, significantly improving the thermal performance and overall U-value of the external walls.

To address the property’s poor ventilation, we replaced all windows and external doors with new energy-efficient units incorporating appropriately sized trickle vents. This improved airflow throughout the home, helping to reduce condensation while enhancing indoor air quality.

The project was completed with Ames taping and a mist coat, leaving the property fully prepared for final decoration.

Additional works included removing and reinstalling the radiators, along with various electrical alterations required to accommodate the refurbishment.

This comprehensive approach not only resolved the underlying causes of the damp and mould but also improved the property’s energy efficiency, ventilation, and long-term durability.

This modern home was thoughtfully reconfigured to create a more practical and spacious living environment through the conversion of the existing double garage. The newly transformed space now provides an additional bedroom, a dedicated boot room/entrance area, and valuable extra storage, enhancing both the functionality and comfort of the property.

As part of the renovation, a load-bearing wall was carefully removed to create a more open plan layout between the living room and kitchen. Structural steel supports were installed to ensure the integrity of the property, followed by full making good works to seamlessly integrate the new open living space. The result is a brighter, more contemporary home with improved flow, increased usable space, and a modern family friendly layout.

This project involved a comprehensive kitchen and bathroom renovation, including complete upgrades to both spaces. The works comprised full electrical rewiring and plumbing installations throughout the kitchen and bathroom areas to ensure modern functionality, safety, and compliance with current standards.

As part of the renovation, all existing windows were removed and replaced with upgraded double-glazed uPVC units, improving the property’s energy efficiency, insulation, and overall appearance.

In addition, the attic space was enhanced to provide the client with valuable additional storage. This included flooring and insulation works, along with framing out the rafters to accommodate a plasterboard finish. The attic was also taped and filled ready for painting.

This project involved transforming a traditional staircase by replacing the existing timber spindles and handrail with sleek glass balustrades, complemented by contemporary solid oak handrails and base rails. The result is a bright, modern feature that enhances both the style and openness of the home.
We also refurbished the utility room, redesigning the layout to improve its functionality, maximise storage, and create a more practical space for everyday use while maintaining a clean, modern finish.

We completed adaptation works to two bathrooms for a client with accessibility requirements.

The first bathroom was fully stripped out and converted into a wet room, including the installation of an accessible toilet and wash basin to improve comfort and usability.

The second bathroom was partially refurbished, with the existing bath removed and replaced with a shower tray installation.

The project was completed with new tiling, decoration works, and illuminated cabinets to provide a modern and practical finish.

This project involved the complete renovation and upgrade of both the kitchen and bathroom within a residential property in Perth. The scope of works included the bespoke installation of a custom walk-in pantry unit, alongside comprehensive electrical and plumbing upgrades carried out throughout the property. Additional works included the installation of quality wall tiling, Ames taping, detailed surface preparation, and full decorative finishes, all completed to deliver a modern, and refined final result.

 small flat roof extension was constructed to provide additional living space. This project included a seamless opening from the kitchen area, incorporating stylish pocket doors to enhance both functionality and aesthetics.

We also reconfigured part of the existing garage to create a compact study area, including an additional opening at the rear of the garage to improve access and flow.

This commercial project involved the transformation of a former solicitors’ office into a stylish local wine bar. The design incorporated a welcoming front bar with direct street access, while the rear of the property was repurposed as a versatile function room.

The refurbishment included the construction of five high-quality cubicle toilets and an additional WC, as well as the installation of a compact kitchen. A former filing cabinet was creatively repurposed into an elegant display unit, now showcasing a selection of fine wines behind the bar.

We managed the project from inception through to completion, coordinating and supplying all required trades to ensure a seamless delivery throughout.
